O CBIOS, unidade de investigação da Universidade Lusófona financiada pela FCT, venceu a 1ª edição do Programa FAZER+ com o projeto “Lusophone flora fighting disease: focus on therapeutic lysyl oxidase modulators” liderado pela investigadora Ana Sofia Fernandes. Trata-se de um projeto, segundo Ana Fernandes que “interpreta bem a missão e visão do CBIOS, focado nas plantas dos países lusófonos como fontes de compostos com potencial atividade terapêutica”.

CBIOS, a research unit of Lusófona University funded by FCT, won the 1st edition of the FAZER+ Program with the project “Lusophone flora fighting disease: focus on therapeutic lysyl oxidase modulators” led by the principal investigator Ana Sofia Fernandes. According to Ana Fernandes, “this is a project that exemplifies the mission and vision of CBIOS, focused on plants from Lusophone countries as sources of compounds with potential therapeutic activity”.
This project also illustrates the multi and interdisciplinary character of this RU involving researchers from all CBIOS domains, 2 young researchers, 6 PhD students and 5 Masters students. Ana Fernandes adds “this is a sure bet on the success of this timely initiative from U. Lusófona ” considering the recognized competence of this health research center of our University.
